Welcome to Blackness House.Blackness House is the original house for Blackness Road in Crowborough, built around 1850. The road has had a mix of houses built on it over the years, all of which have been given a name, not a number (because we're not numbers, are we). If you are not sure whereabouts on Blackness Road a particular house is, follow this link. Crowborough, East Sussex, lies amongst the Ashdown Forest, an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty". Blackness House, opposite the Wolfe Recreation Ground, was built in the first half of the 1800's by the family of General James Wolfe (pictured at the top of each page).
